I’m doing up a thread since people don’t know about Guyana: Y’all to learn! 🇬🇾
I only been Guyana once (smh) so im sure I’m gonna miss bare but first things first our coat of arms in the airport. One people, one nation, one destiny 🇬🇾🤝
Makes sense to start with Georgetown, the vibe is too sweet but mind a bus don’t run yuh down 😂 I was told to ‘push yuh body nuh’ multiple times 😂😂
Also little aerial view over GT. George Town is the capital city
Oh also I should mention and this is important: Guyana is LOCATED in South America but considered a CARIBBEAN nation (Part of CARICOM)
Anyway back to the thread. Guyana is a land of many waters, you have the Demerara river that runs though and you’ll see many trenches as you drive (think the vid is Berbice)
My country pretty baddd 🇬🇾 More water, this is in Linden which is another town in Guyana
This is in Berbice where my Grandparents, aunties and mum lived 🥰 this is the exact road they walked down to go school. See all the water in the trenches. Very water rich country
I’m just throwing this goat in cause look at it 😍 also hear the cockerel in the back that sound just reminds me of Guyana
If you go Guyana I defo recommend visiting the Botanical Gardens. So beautiful and lots of history here. This is the Seven Ponds monument which commemorates past notable Guyanese presidents. I imagine today people there celebrating Independence Day
Also in the Botanical Gardens, this is called the kissing bridge. There’s aquatic animals called manatee’s indigenous to the West Indies in the water. Hold on I think I’ve got a video of them
That’s what the Manatee looks like, they kinda look like small seals lol
You could see all type of animals in the Botanical park zoo, alligators were my fav’s. Defo a good day out
Sorry can we just take in the bus going over this speed bump, til you experience a Guyanese bus ride you haven’t lived 😂
Oh yeah this progress monument is also in the Botanical Gardens. Also this seemed like the party area, this is where the celebrations probably happening today
This was a ‘beach’ area although it’s not a traditional beach they call it the beach in Guyana. In the upper Demerara beach area. Very beautiful. Also that caption is very mad I don’t recommend swimming here and neither do the locals 😂
Another view of it
This was BREATHTAKING and I didn’t even do it justice with this video but flying over the Amazon heading to Kaieteur falls. If you get the opportunity DO IT!
Last one here, Kaieteur falls. This waterfall is the largest single drop waterfall in the world and it’s so beautiful. (I feel like I’m stood so close to the edge though 😅)
