Time for me to rank the 18 cities in the UK that I’ve been to and can somewhat remember!
18. Chichester
-Yes it’s a city
-Great place for crazy golf
-Great burger place somewhere
-That’s pretty much it
-Nice for a day trip but other than that it’s super dull
17. Durham
-Well it’s nice and green
-Not great for shopping
-Cool river
-A little bit dull
-Has some charm
16. Belfast
-I’ve definitely been and I remember a few things, but it would be higher if I remembered more
-Close (ish) to the Giant’s Causeway which I absolutely loved
-I don’t really have anything against it but I don’t have a burning desire to go back
15. Westminster
-Why couldn’t Westminster just be convenient and be classed as london
-There’s probably a historical reason behind it but idc
-Great tourist sites but they’re very very busy
14. Ely
-Apparently this is a city too
-Loved the cathedral, great views from up there
-Very green and I remember there was a cool canal
-A hidden charm of a city
13. Chester
-I’ve been twice and still have to remind myself it’s not York
-Has so much character
-Good for shopping
-No it’s NOT in Wales
12. Liverpool
-Probably should be higher I just only have neutral memories of being here
-Great history with the Beatles and the Titanic
-Literally nothing against the city maybe I should go again
11. Oxford
-Been twice I think?
-Great architecture like the historic colleges
-I remember a few good green areas
-I don’t actually remember much else though
10. Winchester
-Cracking cathedral
-Pretty good for shopping but not amazing
-Some great places to eat
-Great place for a day out you just wouldn’t want to stay for long
9. Inverness
-See Scots I don’t hate your country
-Has links with Macbeth so that’s cool
-Surprisingly great for shopping
-A bit far to get to but once you get there it’s worth it
8. York
-Cool windy streets like this
-Has a lot of personality
-People refer to it as a ā€˜Harry Potter’ kind of city and I see why
-I’ve only been once but really enjoyed it
-Some places are a bit too touristy
7. Leeds
-They played an Eleni Foureira song in a restaurant when I was there so bonus points for that
-Great for shopping
-Just a nice city
6. Manchester
-Really good for shopping
-Love the tram system
-I’ve actually seen a lot of the city and I like a lot of it
-Just a very good city!
5. Brighton
-Historic because ABBA won here
-Seafront is absolutely amazing
-The Lanes are amazing for shopping
-Great places to eat
-People are nice and accepting here
-Top tier city, 100% worth a visit
4. Cambridge
-Great mix of commercial and historic
-The colleges look amazing
-I went to a lecture there and felt so smart lol
-Seems very social
-You can’t walk on the grass in a lot of colleges though which sucks because it looks so nice
3. Southampton
-Hey look a southern city in my top 3 who would’ve guessed!
-Great for shopping
-History with the Titanic
-Close to the New Forest which has a lot of otters
-A very underrated city
2. London
-Great history of course
-Expensive but if you know where to go it’s not over the top
-I absolutely love the London Underground
-The DLR
-Great shopping and places to eat of course
-Big enough that each time you visit there’s something new to do.
1. Portsmouth
-What no I’m not biased
-Historic Dockyard is a National gem
-Spinnaker Tower is very cool
-Designer outlet shopping in the harbour!
-Southsea is great to visit
-Come 2 Portsmouth!
End of thread! I missed out Swansea, Salisbury and Carlisle because I’ve been but don’t remember anything at all about them. Who did I rob or overrate?
