Privilege
(THREAD)
There was a ceremony I went for, the one where lawyers get admitted to the bar and become advocates (idk what it's called) and that was the year kina Ruto's daughter and a lot of politicians kids had sat for the exams as well.
The people who sat for the exam that year can tell you about the shenanigans that went on during that time.
Their pain is different.
But that's not my story to tell.
During the ceremony there was a speaker saying something about the law not giving you money. If you want to get rich open a butchery or a salon and make money through that (He was addressing all of them at the time). Then he went ahead and said that some of you will..
Go ahead and become powerful litigators and some of you will be stuck as law clerks and some of you this is where your journey with law will end. (Still addressing them as a whole)
Then Maraga (The Chief Justice) called out a few names
He called Ruto's daughter and The Attorney General's kid among others but basically he called a group of politicians children and told them to sit on some sort of High table. There was a reaction from the crowd. The looks that were being given were just woah.
Then it's customary for The Chief Justice to take a group photos with all the advocates but before he did he said he wanted a photo with the high table advocates first. There was another reaction from the crowd but this one caught his attention and he asked about it.
They responded by asking why he can't take a photo with all of them at the same time first then he can take one with the his pals after the ceremony. Then he basically told them to relax and their chance will come. Some of the other advocates were like aii basi si ikae.
I can guarantee you in that crowd there were people who had done waaaaay better that the guys who had been called aside and they didn't even get an honourable mention. There was also a rumor of a cheating scandal associated with that group but only people who did their exams that
year can tell you about. I just know I believe them.
From that alone you can tell who's future is secure and who's isn't.
Jobs are hard to find. Truth be told. But are you seriously going to tell me that people from the high table will struggle to find one? If hard work is really what opens doors for such privileges then why are
there so many unemployed people with As and employed people with D- ?
Did the people with As not work hard enough?
@KanjiAlice
What nonsense have you decided to spew out of utter ignorance?
If you are privileged then good for you. I'm not expecting anyone rich to go live on the streets to prove a point. But don't come on here and shit on everyone who doesn't have the same privileges for saying it's unfair. It fucking is.
They have a right to complain.
And if you aren't helping the situation then shut the fuck up.
