(tw abuse mention)

Mmmm I’m in two minds about this bc KS was alright story-wise and makes it very blatantly clear that the whole thing is EXTREMELY toxic and abusive and Not Romantic In The Slightest. As a thriller/horror it’s not bad.
HAVING SAID THAT

it deals with SO MANY ISSUES which i won’t list bc of triggers, so i’m not exactly sure how they’re going to make this work given how sensitive a lot of the topics are
MY BIGGEST ISSUE WITH THIS and why I said YIKES and I’m So Apprehensive about it is that people were romanticising the relationship in this, calling it BL, saying it was hot and so on and this will undoubtedly happen again if this production comes out and gains more following
THAT’S NOT OKAY

This Story is Fucked. Up. It is not romantic. It is the polar opposite of healthy. It deals with a myriad of dark and serious issues that *some* people just don’t seem to acknowledge, or just dismiss because the main characters to engage with each other sexually
I guess my concern tldr is y*oi fans (especially minors) are going to consume this series and recommend it to others as a boy’s love when it is literally a fucking psychological thriller that happens to have a very unhealthy homosexual relationship at the forefront, and that this
is going to result in ppl consuming the series without being adequately informed of all the triggers and Fucked Up Shit that happens in it. Ofc from the name you can tell it’s going to be Dark, but it goes WAY deeper than just gore/m*rder and deals with a lot of issues
that could be very disturbing and/or triggering to ill informed readers

I haven’t read the entire thing because I couldn’t deal with it. But I have read Enough to know that this is NOT a ‘boys love/y*oi’, especially not one that you romanticise or recommend to others without
informing them of the proper genre and all of the sensitive issues that it explores.

Tldr KS is a very very dark psychological thriller/slasher that got a lot of traction for featuring a homosexual relationship, and I will bet my hat I’m not the only one concerned with the
possibility of consumers romanticising the content

fiction/reality debate aside bc that’s a whole other can of worms, it’s imo disturbing to see ppl calling this ‘hot’ or viewing the main characters as being romantically involved & good for eachother when that is Not The Case
Idek if any of this thread made sense but basically Cool that this is getting an adaption as it is okay story-wise, but BIG YIKES at all the potential problems that will undoubtedly come with it
