I’m gonna be honest. The whole Doja Cat thing didn’t make sense while following it in real time. It seemed like people were grasping at straws that they constantly couldn’t hold on to... It felt from the start like something an incel planned/ wanted to do. 1/
I know this is a shock to people who follow me, but I don’t just cancel when people say to, I follow the lines. The problem became that this entire thing was reliant on Lipstick Alley claims, a site that’s known for defamation and disgusting threads. 2/
The second it all started to blow up, everyone with a dissenting view was blasted as being a coon or an idiot, it became really hard to watch. Let me clarify this now, I’m not a Doja Cat stan, but it was pretty plain to see that a lot of the postings were staged. 3/
I held my tongue for the sake of a lot of people that know me, know that I’m an activist, so they aren’t expecting this from me. I’m not huge, but I know my tweets can disappoint or affirm some people. So now I’m being completely transparent. 4/
There’s tons of proof out there that the claims people are running with, are made by blackmailers and incels, ones who have done this before. Idk why taking screenshots of someone saying “my cousin billy” or whomever saw Doja Cat doing this heinous stuff was taken as fact. 5/
It’s easy to believe the worst in celebrities, but seeing how quick y’all were to tear down Doja as opposed to celebrities with real proof against them, I was freaked out by the bandwagon-ism. The song wasn’t about Sandra Bland, reading the lyrics could’ve told you that. 6/
She already stated that she tried and failed to reclaim it. Reclaiming isn’t new (slut, nigga, the f-slur for gays). But it was easy to believe she was instead being anti-black. When it came out the song wasn’t about Sandra Bland, everyone turned to “well it’s still bad to use”7/
Which it is, but again, reclaiming it gone wrong *see lyrics*. Now I don’t defend people all the time, but I have dealt with creepy men threatening to tear down my little ass self, so I’m not shocked that anyone would do that to Doja. 8/
So I took everything with a grain of salt, and it turns out as I thought from the start, the claims were unfounded. She had apologized sincerely for the f-slur, she was never in alt-right group chats, and the song was not anti-black, so now what? 9/
Now came the claims of her being anti-black. One thread said “her past of white exes proves she’s anti black,” which... wtf. On top of that people started saying she hates her natural hair, which, she said it was hard to manage. I have shared the same sentiments before. 10/
So again, it’s a trend of “oh, well we can’t cancel her for this thing, let’s move to the next” and people ran with each new thing. In the end she posted her apology/ letter on Instagram. A lot of people said “well this is a non-apology” 11/
It’s a non apology because she didn’t do it and there’s proof that she wasn’t in the white supremacy group chats... which is what she said... idk why y’all want an apology for something that didn’t happen. In the end it’s working out in incels favor. 12/13
It’s pretty clear that someone had a vendetta against her. Again a lot of my friends aren’t gonna like this thread. But think of how many creepy men threaten blackmail and then ruin a women’s life? It’s not crazy that it ties back to this. And there’s proof of it being that.13/13
