It& #39;ll never be ok as a parent to make ur kids inherit a beef they have no idea about it& #39;s origins, moreso one with their own family.

I remember a friend back in school who never saw eye to eye with her own cousin in the same dept, let alone spoke to her.

It was crazy
When i asked why, she simply replied, "we don& #39;t speak to that side of the family".

That was what her & her siblings were told growing up & it never really occurred to her to find out why.

I couldn& #39;t understand it cos she always seemed so rational but had to lock up.
It wasn& #39;t my family so i didn& #39;t really care.

They both graduated without any interactions cos they both made conscious effort to avoid themselves.

Fast forward to 2 yrs later, babe calls me to say she finally found out about what caused the beef.
Apparently some silly wrapper dispute that happened over 50yrs ago & escalated to d point where family members had to take sides.

Was glad when i learned that d kids decided to squash the beef the adults started & that she & her cousins were finally getting to know each other.
Funny thing is that these sort of beefs are still very much ongoing in a lot of large Nigerian families.

It& #39;s always best to find out about the beef your parents made you inherit and ask yourself if it& #39;s worth it.

Too many adults going around with "inherited enemies".
