Thread ; I received 3 calls yesterday that have cumulatively made me depressed :

1. My younger brother who’s resides in Lagos was apparently arguing with his friends when he called me. He needed me to clear them if there was really Coronavirus outbreaks in Nigeria

According to him they wanted to beat him up for claiming there was covid19 in http://Lagos.Date  :25/05/2020, Lagos already has 3595 confirmed cases,70% or more of cases reported in other states have a travel history to Lagos,invariably large scale community spread there

2. A friend resident in Onitsha said she had sudden loss of taste and smell , her friend complained of similar symptoms a week earlier . She’s taking anti malarial drugs and vehemently refuses to get tested.persons in a group she belonged to complained of similar strange ailments

they all are taking antimalarial drugs . PH, Lagos , Anambra , Owerri dwellers . Possibly many undiagnosed cases of COVID 19 , more community spread.

3. A brother from my community called me late at night, his younger brother was referred from Navy Reference Hospital Ojo to IDH Yaba for testing . His brother was diabetic and hypertensive, developed respiratory symptoms and had been in respiratory distress .

He was on oxygen, his sugar was 350mg/dL and the BP was high .
He needed me to pull a string to get quick attention at IDH.
I called the MD of the center who happened to be my boss during Ebola Outbreak campaign in Lagos .

Dr. Abimbola was willing to help but IDH was already filled up to the brim. No space anywhere to accommodate new cases . I asked about anywhere else in Lagos that can accommodate cases and he told me he had called around and everywhere was full .
