As much as I agree with how horrendously Boris Johnson has behaved, I don’t think it’s this simple. Many (most?) made the decisions to abide by the rules for the greater good, not solely because we were told to. Those outraged about Cummings behaviour and unrepentance are outraged because they know the stakes are so high, that breaking the rules may kill people. They are not generally people who think “Oh now he’s doing it, that means I can do it”.
I’m not saying some people won’t do that, but it’s likely that those who would be dismissive of the rules would have already been bending or breaking them before this.
I take this thread back. Already spoken to a sensible person I know who has started visiting family as a result of Cummings’ actions and justifications.
