Dear #Ghostbusters community, I think it high time we stop giving voices to our toxic members. I firmly believe the overwhelming members who love Ghostbusters are passionate, talented, and incredibly intelligent individuals. You're the people who love both horror and humor,
darkness and delight, highbrow and lowbrow comedy. Maybe something in the film scared you into being interested in the supernatural, maybe owning a proton pack was your dream, maybe the combined talents of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Aykroyd made you lifelong fans.
There are a thousand other reasons and media that have brought fans onboard; The Real Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Ghostbusters: Answer the Call, hell, maybe even Ghost Busters with Tracy the Ape. Whatever the reason, you're welcome.
So if you are an influencer in the Ghostbusters community, the official page of a local group, a member, a fan, an advocate for change; I'd like to repeat the words of Dr. Peter Venkman: "My friend, don't be a jerk."
And let's stop tolerating the negative culture that is flowing like a river of slime throughout the internet. You don't have to respond to misogynist criticisms who, after 4 years want to make a debate. You can block anyone you want, delete their comments,
we don't owe any toxic person the platform to spread their noxious beliefs. Our fandom doesn't need to tolerate anyone, especially terrible individuals that don't promote the shear joy we found when we first saw Ghostbusters. #Dontbeajerk @GBNewsdotcom @PositivelyGB
