Together through thick and thin!
♡ Tang Fan and Sui Zhou! ♡

Currently watching The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty, a drama adapted from the BL novel: The Fourteenth Year of Chenghua - 成化十四年 by Meng Xi Shi.

The drama features Darren Chen as Tang Fan, a witty sixth rank official with a great appetite for food; and Fu Meng Po as Sui Zhou, a righteous imperial guard — two lovable main protagonists who solve mysteries together!

Mystery solving plot, humor and wholesome moments! 💯
Tang Fan is a sixth rank official (magistrate). He has a gluttonous nature, but despite his love for food, he can't cook to save a life and that's really hilarious.

He's extremely witty with a great sense of justice, adorable, has stunning visuals and is very entertaining!
Sui Zhou is an imperial guard with great martial arts skills. He's righteous, very patient (it's funny sometimes), a super great cook (all the food porn in the drama comes from the scenes where he cooks, it's torture!), AND SO COOL!

ALSO, HIS VOICE IS SO DEEP AND HEAVENLY!
And my absolute favorite character, who's the third protagonist, played by Liu Yao Yuan — Wang Zhi!

He's such a badass eunuch with extreme loyalty to the Emperor and his Noble Consort. Always with a smile, very sly, proud and merciless, but also a respectable man. I LOVE HIM!
The Fourteenth Year of Chenghua - 成化十四年 (the novel of this drama adaptation) is written by Meng Xi Shi who happens to be the same author for Thousand Autumns - 千秋 (Qian Qiu) and Peerless - 无双 (Wushuang), two novels I absolutely love and follow updates for! CHEF'S KISS!
I have not started on the novel yet as there aren't much translated chapters released, and since The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty is an adaptation of the novel (which means it won't follow the exact layout of the novel), I clearly can't say much BUT—
BUT please hear me out when I say the drama gives off the style in which Meng Xi Shi writes her other two novels! VERY PLOTTY AND HUMOROUS IN IT'S OWN WAY!

Do give it a try if this thread has piqued your interest! I'll be uploading more content too! Thank you! :')
