So a summary of the Misconduct of #DominicCummings

1. Returned to work after discovering someone in his household had suspected Covid-19.

2. Dominic and his wife chose to risk a Journey that could result in wider infection spread should unplanned stops be needed.

cont.
3. Drove whilst suffering from eyesight issues to collect His Son and Wife from Hospital.

4. Drove 45 Minutes to Barnard Castle whilst unsure of his ability to drive because he wasn't confident he could see properly

cont.
5. The use of a "second home" which the guidance expressly forbid the use of.

6. Utilised Downing Street resources and Ministers of the Crown to defend him in his role as Senior Advisor.

All these issues highlight poor judgement by Dominic Cummings

cont.
If Dominic Cummings had owned his errors in judgement and dealt with the issues earlier in the weekend or made an attempt of contrition by now I would be more forgiving. Unfortunately his explanations have demonstrated poor judgement and potential driving offences.

cont.
His wife Mary Wakefield has further complicated issues by previously writing autobiographical articles in the @spectator that now appear to be works of fiction leading to questions about their editorial standards.

cont.
@BBCr4today allowed a reading of one of those Mary Wakefield articles read by the author also leading to questions of their editorial standards.

The Press conference yesterday still left questions to be answered.
Why couldn't he work remotely on the afternoon of the 27th March?, With knowledge of coworker illness why did he introduce another potential vector of Covid-19? With knowledge of NHS resourcing did he consider the potential treatment needs of Mary before traveling?

cont.
What potential childcare alternatives did Mr Cummings and Mrs wakefield consider?, What measures did Mr Cummings undertake to mitigate the need to stop on his journey to Durham? e.g Toilet breaks, vehicle issues.

cont.
Was he aware of Covid-19 infection rates in the areas he travelled through and did he consider the risks that his Journey posed to those areas if he had been forced to stop? This includes police who may have had to stop him to ask about his Journey as part of Lockdown.

cont.
Did he ask any of his Family to pick up Mary and their son from Hospital, given his confessed driving deficiencies? Was he aware that driving whilst being impaired was an offence? Is Mary able to drive? and if so why didn't she return them to London without the test drive?
cont.
Finally sacking Dominic Cummings is a question of his judgement, not a political choice, this move does not stop Brexit and does not change the @Conservatives manifesto. But does demonstrate the consequence of breaking the lockdown and would encourage future compliance

cont.
The main threat posed by the actions of Dominic Cummings is compliance of the General public to present and future Social distancing rules, as well as in future. This issue has provided scope of "selfish" reasoning for defiance of laws that is now permissible.

cont.
The UK relies heavily of widespread compliance to the Laws of The Land to keep order, The countries resourcing for Public Order requires that to be maintained and the continued presence Of Dominic Cummings as an exception to that rule raises significant questions for the UK.
