I remember gyaffing with some girls on hall one day about our various countries and how shook they were that Guyana& #39;s national animal was the jaguar.
One girl was like "Nope. I can& #39;t come to Guyana to be eaten alive."

Another thing that left them shook was our rivers and how large they are.

Just to give context, these photos provide an aerial view of the Essequibo River, our largest river with islands larger than a few Caribbean islands.

We have over 300 waterfalls and of course, the tallest single drop waterfall in the world, the majestic Kaietuer Falls.
It& #39;s one of the most awe-inspiring things to see in person.

The Demerara Harbour Bridge was another thing that left some friends shook. It& #39;s an over 6000 feet floating bridge that I travelled on almost every day to get to school.
The girls couldn& #39;t get past the floating or the size of the river.

Any time I mention we have snakes, especially anacondas, people "nope" out extra quick.

But yes, we& #39;re home to the green anaconda, the heaviest and largest snake in the world (also the second longest).

When I learned about the poison dart frog, I just couldn& #39;t forget it, so it& #39;s another random fact I tell non-Guyanese in any & #39;country conversation& #39;.
The skin of the frog is poisonous due to an alkaloid toxin derived from certain foods.

We have lots of mountains but one particularly interesting summit is Mount Roraima. It& #39;s the tallest of the Pakaraima Mountains and it& #39;s the point where the borders of Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil meet.
It is beautiful.

Have you ever seen our national bird, the Canje Pheasant (also known as the Hoatzin)?
It gives me big royalty vibes. Probably, the feathers. (DEFinitely, the feathers
