Going to say something controversial about which we need to have some honest dialogue.

White women, from a very young age, are taught to fear black men.

I am not a sociologist or psychologist, but I am a white woman who has received social cues since birth to fear black males.
This is a very complex issue and is an issue which dates back hundreds of years.

This unjustified teaching comes directly and indirectly.

It perpetuates white supremacy.

We will never resolve the Karen issue until we address this socio-cultural brainwashing of white women.
I have triggered a white fragility response in some with my thread.

Raised by liberals who taught me anti-racist values, my family is multi-race, multi-cultural.

And yet, as a white woman, I have received societal cues to fear black males.

If defensive about this topic read:
We cannot prevent Karen from exploiting the societal stereotype to her advantage unless we abolish the unjust stereotype.

Abolishing the unjust stereotype requires admitting it exists and acknowledging we are aware how it can be weaponized.
For those of you claiming purity on this issue, you have work to do.

Here is one *direct* societal cue I received: a KKK march in my Yankee state.

These were teachers, police officers and firemen, handing out leaflets about black male violence against white women.
I can do this until the cows come home.

Point being, we must address the root of the problem.

Whether you care to admit it or not, we are constantly bombarded with subtle, indirect imprints which perpetuate white supremacy and this racist stereotype. https://www.adweek.com/agencies/a-brief-rundown-of-racism-within-advertising-and-why-its-still-happening-today/
The takeaway from this thread is that Karen does not exist in a vacuum.

Karen was created.

Karen was nurtured.

Karen was rewarded.

Karen was encouraged.

Karen was believed.

Karen was trusted.

Karen had an entire system allowing for her to be fully Karen.
