What I write is purely for self-gratification and the target audience is me and me alone. This is still important.

Reflecting on this a bit more. This thread gave me cause to contemplate aspects of my writing process, and frankly a lot of things that I don't consciously think of as being part of the editing process just... are. I'd hardly call my work polished, but...
