Having watched the Cummings statement, I have to say I was rather disappointed with the media, who just had their prepared questions and did not think on their feet and respond to some of the new information. So here's the questions I think need to be asked (thread)

1. When you rushed home because your wife had said she was too sick to care for your child, did you think she had coronavirus?
2. When you then returned to Downing Street, did you have any concerns that you might have infected other people there with the virus?

3. You have explained that one reason for relocating to Durham was because you were not safe in Islington because your address was known to those who wished you harm, and this was a threat even though most people were staying at home. Why have you now returned to that address?

4. You have explained that you left for Durham because you believed you and your wife might be too ill to care for your child. Did it cross your mind at any point that if this happened, you could add to burden of NHS services in Durham?

5. Do you accept that when your child did develop symptoms, you put a burden on NHS services in Durham, requiring an ambulance and a stay in hospital for your wife and child?

6. You have explained that your intention in going to Durham was to be as isolated as possible to avoid infecting others. But in going to hospital with the virus, your family could have infected others. Does this concern you at all?

7. It is not the action of a rational person to make an 80 min round trip with your wife and child in the car, in order to test whether you are fit to drive. Was this in fact a trip to celebrate your wife's birthday, as is widely suggested?

8. Accounts of your lockdown experience in the Spectator by you & your wife appeared designed to attract sympathy and omitted the fact you were in Durham. You claim this was to avoid attention of the media on the Durham address. Wh write about the experience at all in that case?

9. Do you know of any members of the cabinet who have behaved as you have, i.e. travelled by car from their homes during the lockdown period to stay at another address?
