TL sleep lemme go ahead and rant: Montgomery is already out of ICU beds. In 2-3 weeks time this whole state will probably be out of them and most hospitals overrun, overworked, and overcapacity.

It’s not that corona is the deadliest virus we’ve ever faced, it’s not that the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions are most at risk (there are plenty of evidences showing YOUNG and/or HEALTHY people falling gravely ill), it’s not that “people die from the flu so be it”

The POINT is that this virus has a unique combo of unfavorable qualities. It is EXTREMELY contagious, can be asymptomatic for a large amount of people, can take several days or weeks to show symptoms, and is lethal at a percentage that kills an alarming amount of people.

The main reason why corona IS a big deal is not that it’s the most deadly thing it’s this: the easiness of spread mixed with its percentage of lethality is enough to completely overwhelm, overwork, and destroy our hospitals, health care workers, and overall healthcare system.

THIS is what we are trying to prevent. We aren’t saying to be afraid you’ll drop dead on spot, but we are saying without any precautions and just letting it “spread naturally” the number of ppl who will need medical assistance is TOO MANY AT ONE TIME FOR US TO HANDLE.

Stop comparing this to the FLU. THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. All viruses are DIFFERENT. So compare them for their stats ,but they are NOT the same. Like STDs or STIs, each have their own symptoms and effects. Some are more dangerous, some have a cure, some can go ASYMPTOMATIC.

Like STDs or STIs the levels of caution you use LOWER your risk. Isolation, social distancing, wearing a mask, are all forms of caution to Lowe risk to ultimately keep our healthcare system from collapse.

Y’all are arguing over wearing a facial covering for 45 minutes because you think it treads on your sense of “freedoms of liberties” Well look, half of y’all not cute enough to be out here without a mask on. Cover it up, we ain’t missing nothing, I promise you.

And to conclude, a lot of y’all were pro life or all lives matter, for once, I’mma need you to keep that same energy for this situation. Do better.
