Yesterday Cummings told us what we already knew from the press but gave us a few more finer details.
If you break it down, it is a litany of mistakes and offences for which he offered no regret or apology.

1) 27th March - rushed home, Mary was ill but then went back into work.
He said critical things to do & she felt better. When he got home they discussed she might have Covid. So in a few hours she went from ill to better to maybe covid? Should he have then isolated when he first went home?

2) When did he fill up the car for the trip north on 27th?
3) Why didnt a fit & healthy family member come south? It was early lockdown unlikely anyone outside house?

4) Would they normally travel 4 hours without a toilet break & how did their son cope with that journey?

5) He wrote about coronavirus last year and the need for planning
Was this in his blog? Why did he alter blog on 14th April to include a paragraph on coronavirus?

6) Why was it safer to return to work and leave wife and son in house on 13th April compared to 27th March
Had he sorted security?
7) Did he not think it was stupid to drive the car with wife & his child as passengers if he was having problems with vision?

8) Why go to Barnard Castle? Was this really a trip for Mary's birthday?

9) If once he got there and started to feel sick, should Mary have drove back?
11) On return journey when he stopped for toilet break for child. Why did they then play for a bit if not far from home? Why did he get out of car join them and go into woods?

12) Were questions 7-11 all breaking the stay at home message?

Exercise 1 x a day, shop essentials
13) The 60 mile drive on Sun 12th on Mary's birthday to Barnard Castle and the drive on Fri 3rd to Durham hospital were these both undertaken when he was unfit to drive?

14) Where did he stop on the return journey from Durham?

15) Why didnt Mary drive or share the driving?
16) Did they put others at risk? A) Returning to work on 27th? B) Hospital admission in Durham where both son & wife attended hospital when Mary could have been carrying the virus? C) By trip to Barnard Castle/Woods D) Filling up fuel prior to journey north and return trip?
He took a number of risks by travelling (filling up car/potential breakdown/accident), himself & child in confined space for 4 hours with Mary having suspected covid.
He risked spreading the virus by not self isolating when Mary took ill by returning to work, by travelling to another part of country, then there was a hospital visit for wife & son in ambulance. They broke lockdown to go to Barnard Castle & Woods. Return journey when not tested
He clearly didnt follow stay at home rules unless for exercise or essentials instead choosing to travel 30 miles to Barnard Castle, where they then sat by river as he felt unwell. Then stopping at woods and playing on return journey.
The key message was Stay home, Protect NHS, Save lives were very clear, instead he ignored them all, breaking lockdown rules and potentially committing driving offences, whilst risking others.
It does appear to show one rule for Cummings and a different one for us all.
He didn't apologise or believe he did anything wrong, other than not tell the PM Fri 27th.

His defence was safety in London. Yet still broke rules in Durham.

You have to now question not just Dominic Cummings but also Boris Johnson for believing this was acceptable.
