Seeing people talking about all time great Lions, seems like it always bears a reminded.

Dick Lane had most of his best years BEFORE he became a Lion.

For reference, Darius Slay had the same number of pro bowls as a Lion as Dick Lane did.
Lane obviously had the better career, but if you're talking about AS A LION, Lane doesn't even crack top 3 as a defensive back, let alone as an all time Detroit Lion.
If you want to talk all time great Detroit Lions, talk about the great Lions.

Joe Schmidt had a decades worth of top tier play, one of the best linebackers ever.

Dick Lebeau would have a notable career as a coach, but as a player was already a hall of Famer for the Detroit Lions.
Lem Barney went to 7 pro bowls.

That's not as many as Dick Lebeau but more than twice as many as a Detroit Lion.
Yale Lary was a multiple all pro, multiple NFL Champion.

One of the all time greats, more so than even Stafford or Johnson.

Almost completely unremembered by modern fans.
I get that people love cool nicknames, and Night Train Lane among the all time greats as a football player and among nicknames.

But hes not a Rushmore type of player for this team. So many better players to choose from who actually played their best here.
