Was having a discussion with someone in my relatives circle, over the TTD issue. He was understandably furious about it, cursing Jaggu. I told him that Govt should get out of controlling temples.

His reaction - " No Govt should run temples, else people will loot it. Have you not seen how in some old Telugu movie, the temple trust chairman steals all the jewels".
Me-

Many Hindus feel that Pvt trusts will loot the temples, won't allow Dalits. And I have seen many such arguments here too. Govts won't let go of temples as long as most Hindus feel this way, sadly.

Good number of Hindus offline have this contempt for priests even now, calling them greedy looters, and this includes the very "devout" Hindus who will pray multiple times , regularly go to temples. Govts just take advantage of that.
