It's important to remember that significant portions of the prophetetical writings are addressed to people who thought they were "doing church right" and "worshipping right," not to those who were being fast and loose with their worship.
God condemns those who thought they were "doing church right" by telling them that he hates their feasts, festivals, gatherings, offerings, and prayers because they have neglected justice and righteousness. God brings down the haughty who thought they were "worshipping right"
by telling them that their worship was nothing more than noisy clamor because it was devoid of justice and righteousness. Jesus himself, the true Prophet greater than Moses, condemned the most self-proclaimed regulated worshippers around because they neglected the weightier
matters of the law-justice, mercy,&faithfulness-for the sake of their particularities and minutiae.

Jesus will not break a bruised reed &will not snuff out a smoldering wick. But he gladly turns the tables on those who shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces.
