As much as I love all these franchises, Starira at its core is the worse for me. The gameplay is dull and rather stagnant if you can’t strengthen your teams. The story while good to an extent is very poor in its execution because of the stilted sprites and poor line delivery. https://twitter.com/chkariko/status/1265020217278767107
Not to mention the main story is a very cold story. You’re expected to learn and care about each of the schools and characters but with the way the story is panned out, you ultimately have to side with a single school. At least that’s how far I’ve gotten.
All of this wouldn’t be much of an issue if it wasn’t for the biggest set back the game has, the unforgiving gacha. I have seen so many cases of people giving everything for a single card only to end up with nothing but Memoirs. This in itself wouldn’t be bad if you didn’t need
stronger cards to progress in the story. All Stars may have similar mechanics but it at least does its best to give you the best possible chance of strengthening your teams to the best of your abilities. Bandori may have mediocre gacha rates but you’re always guaranteed to get
cards of the girls that you can use for either Michelle stickers or your teams. Though again i can understand the issues with both gachas. I think as a whole the story of Revue Starlight worked well in the anime but doesn’t hit the same impact in the game and I really hope we see
An improvement on the game. It has interesting elements and it at least can entertain the people that are big fans of it. The gripes I have with it are very personal based and while the art style isn’t super impressive I will say the art for both the memoirs and cards are nice.
This went on way longer than I expected and I’m sorry for the really long tweet but this was the best way I can explain my opinions on Starira. If you read this thread thanks. I send you a heart.
