It's 2am and I'm awake, unable to sleep because the Cummings thing just wound me up. Again the journos let us down. I have to get it off my chest. He shouldn't resign because of the trip, he should resign because

his thought process and decision making abilities seem impaired or inappropriate for protecting individuals or the citizens of the nation. As I write this the UK has the highest number of deaths per million on the planet,

as a fan of big data, this statistic alone should be enough for him to question whether he is in the right role. He said that faced with a sick wife and suspecting he might get seriously ill (ergo he's already infectious), he didn't call on friends or

colleagues anywhere in London, he didn't speak to anyone in UKgov or the security services, he didn't contact social services or any of his wife's family, some of whom I believe live closer than Durham. He didn't choose to have his his sister or niece on alert

should he get sick and then have a healthy person picked up and driven 250 miles. Instead he put his four year old in a car with two infectious adults for hours over 250 miles. This is not the decision making of someone capable in the middle of a pandemic.

During this trip he could've succumbed to Covid19, resulting in the entire family requiring rescue or having an accident. So bearing in mind the plethora of options available to him why would he choose the highest risk (for child and public) option available. Worrying.

Similarly, if you've had blurred vision and nausea, that could be anything, could be signs of heart trouble, who knows, his solution to find out if he was alright was to take a lump of a vehicle hacking down dual carriageways for an hour.

The visit to the 'eye test' castle just happened to be on his wifes birthday, convenient coincidence. His wife can drive, she was well by the time of the return journey why didn't he let her drive. Once again, is this the kind of broken logic that gives you

campaigns but Cummings own account of his actions reinforces my view that his capabilities are completely inappropriate for protecting the nation in a pandemic. He is not the right person for the job, he should be sacked or resign.
