I’ve posted a few progress pictures before, but I’m currently making this beautiful Ignis design from @tottoponpon. The details on this one are going to be something special. 🌸
As of now, the basic jacket and coat are assembled and awaiting details. The pauldron has been 3D printed and the cape has a few flowers on it. This one will be a slow burn since it doesn’t have a real deadline.
A few pretty details...
Working on the paint for the armor.
Flowers and rhinestones. 🌸✨
A little more progress...
The artist was kind enough to send me a more detailed look at the costume, since the original piece was so ethereal. I’ll be combining my favorite parts of them into the costume, with the artists’ blessing of course.
Lastly, I plan to wear it with scarred Ignis, with the Sword of the Father in hand. I interpreted the costume to be worn by Ignis post-FFXV, as it struck me as a bit funerary.
Finally picking up work on this again!
I don’t want to deviate from the original design too much, but I don’t want to cut this fabric! 😭
So I am eager to restart work on this.

I can go in two directions with the back of the coat.

1) cut the gold lace fabric into panels and simply sew it over the coat

2) cut out the individual appliqués and sew them onto the coat individually.
The second step is a lot more work, but I think it will look more integrated, and will reduce the amount of bulk on the coat.
Here we go! The lace fabric is being cut up into respective shapes so it can be arranged and sewn onto the coat freely.
Once I figure out where I want everything to go, the extra material will be trimmed up before it’s secured in place.
I haven’t forgotten about this costume, it’s just been going very, very slowly. Lots of lace needs to be cut out!
Hey I found this thread!
Today’s progress: shoulder seams adjusted. A few oopsie spots fixed.
Lots of hand stitching. This is going to take a while. 😅
