i'm reading a novel right now in which a name is prominent in the title but no one with that name has yet appeared and the tension is great

every new man that appears: is this it. is this the guy. is it going to be the guy (it's not the guy)

there is somebody with a very similar name and maybe they'll turn out to be the same

i'm not tweeting the name of the book because i'm not going to risk the possibility that i am missing something obvious thanks to my immense stupidity
