I think what I& #39;ll share is that people underestimate how much math can disillusion students who would otherwise use economics to make the world a better place. https://twitter.com/ENPancotti/status/1265073680746516482">https://twitter.com/ENPancott...
Do you know how many URM students want to study economics, but then the math/models/ etc. feel like a barrier to their success in the major or beyond? More than you think. Its not even because they can& #39;t do it, it& #39;s because they& #39;re not empowered to believe that they can.
And even the ones who understand the math still get told that they can& #39;t do economics.... like me.

It& #39;s almost as if some people in the field believe that learning economics is an innate ability reserved for a few. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🍵" title="Teacup without handle" aria-label="Emoji: Teacup without handle">

But its not...anyone can study economics. ANYONE.
Yeah, anyway, economics is awesome and I hope that the professors are intentional about making lectures more inclusive.

The only reason I am interested in econ is because my macro professor connected human capital and African development. Literally, blew. my. mind.
