Three weeks on, I& #39;d be interested to hear if any of those lawyers:
- have changed their view
- have a more nuanced view
- had difficulties in using the app (eg reported iPhone issues)
- read the response to the Privacy Impact Assessment
(And one of my "most joyful experiences" in my legal career was being part of a team that successfully won a case all the way to the High Court.)
As I& #39;ve said before, I have no issues at all with anyone& #39;s decision to download the app, we all have different personal circumstances to consider. I do have a problem with "cheerleading" which hasn& #39;t considered a diverse range of perspectives.
For example, here& #39;s an excellent post from @SalingerPrivacy that discusses the app with appropriate nuance: https://www.salingerprivacy.com.au/2020/04/29/covidsafe-app-blog/">https://www.salingerprivacy.com.au/2020/04/2...
It& #39;s complex. It& #39;s not a simple "trade off" between privacy & public health (or easing restrictions).
