Hearing from a number of teachers in #vsb39 who are even more upset after watching a Health & Safety video from the district today. Feeling is that what is planned for #bced k-12 is in direct contradiction to what is expected literally everywhere else. /1

No physical distancing is expected for kids, esp by younger students ("Encourage" no touching each other, but can be close). No tape on floors, removal of desks or furniture - can move around as usual. And hand sanitizer is being touted as equivalent to hand washing /2

No barriers or screens to be installed in offices. No special restrictions needed **in K - 12 setting** for those employees that are older, have health conditions or immune compromised. /3

I'm told: Playgrounds open. Announcement re play structures upcoming according to what was on video. I was told by a #vsb39 employee that it is expected play structures will open soon. /4

Don't really know what to say about this... I'll be watching the #vsb39 meeting tonight to see what questions are asked by trustees re: safety measures, as well as the issue of medical accommodation for staff.
