National #SorryDay.
What do I say.
To my Mother & Father both now gone. I felt, feel their pain that I cost them their health & Strength by not being there as a parent knowing how painful this must have been.
Wanna know why Aboriginal health is worse when our children are removed
My father died at about 44 years, my mother 62 years old. They lost three children to removal, one daughter in her infant years.
The deliberate removals has a significant health detriment yet it continues today in every State & Territory.
National Sorry Day truly has no meaning to me other than feeling pain and anger at the continuing destruction of Aboriginal families by Govts, by colonialists and racists within our child protection systems.
Govts refuse to fund strong Early Intervention Programs enduring stronger family units rather than simply removing our children. Breaking community, Culture, Spirit, Knowledge.
National Sorry Day means nothing to the praying prime minister. What if anything will be mentioned today at his National Press Club speech? Will he even acknowledge Country? Will he have an Elder open his speech with it?
What programs for employment will be announced today for remote & regional Aboriginal ppl and communities to remain safe & isolated during #COVID19?
If Morrison removes additional training & employment opportunities from States & Territories then he promotes ongoing restrictions on Aboriginal well-being and future. So why bother with Sorry Day when it is used as a titled excuse by those in authority with funding?
