Let's watch some freaking Avatar why the heck not? #atlaluketa
This is gonna basically be a live tweet thread, I'll write some more elaborate toughts at the end of episodes

Thread em inglês porque meus amigos gringos que me empurraram pra assistir, quem quiser falar em português é mais do que bem vindo #atlaluketa
What I've seen of ATLA:

- two episodes I watched at a friend's house. One was about a giant sloth spirit (???), don't remember the other one
- the freaking Shyamalan movie, which is canon until proved not to be
s01e01 let's get it
BICHO, É BOA ESSA SÉRIE DUBLADA????
Is the Avatar only born among the wind tribe?
Sokka calling water bending "magic" makes me think it's not commonplace in the water tribe

(also Sokka FUCKING SUCKS)
The revival scene is soooo cool #atlaluketa

(also Zuko FUCKING SUCKS)
Appa and Aang are very sweet :) Like them a whole lot #atlaluketa

Iroh is the only man who doesn't suck so far
Huh. I wonder if Aang knows water bending or "something" clicked to freeze him #atlaluketa
It's cool that Zuko isn't a full fledged commander but is still learning bending like Katara #atlaluketa
Aight, how much of that is Aang's actual personality and how much is he hiding? #atlaluketa
Jesus fuck, everyone this kid has ever known is already dead #atlaluketa
OK, ep. 02!

The start of the episode feels very condensed #atlaluketa
OOOOOOH, THIS REALLY >REALLY< IS A SERIES ABOUT IMPERIALISM #atlaluketa
Prediction: Zuko has a sour relationship with his father, the monks all really loved Aang #atlaluketa
Episode 2 felt a little rushed but still cool, I hope the series slows down a little and allows people to have conversations. The fights are fun like a Jackie Chan movie, which creates a nice contrast to when Aang "clicks" as the Avatar #atlaluketa
It seems bending is closer to upper military training than a widespread cultural practice. Not every soldier knows it, but Zuko and Iroh do. Not everyone in the water village knows it but Katara does #atlaluketa
I think the series does a good job of estabilishing the fire nation as this highly militarized, stratified, colonizing foreign power in these two episodes. Not sure that I like the water tribe being depicted as this powerless though #atlaluketa
Really having a hard time with Sokka. I think it's cool that he is a pragmatic kid that wants to protect his home from colonial violence, but he was used as too much of a comedy relief to the point where his resistance,+ #atlaluketa
and by consequence the resistance of the water tribe felt very undercut. It's one thing to depict the struggle of a people, another to depict them as completely helpless. Makes me wonder about how the water tribe is structured. "Tribe" and not "Nation" huh? #atleluketa
anyway gonna try to watch two episodes a day, just mute #atlaluketa if you don't wanna see this bullshit every day 😅
AND NOW #atlaluketa
Oh boy, Katara knows everyone is dead but doesn't know how to tell him huh? #atlaluketa
Oho, Earth "Kingdom"

OH BOY AANG IS IN BIG DENIAL TIME BECAUSE HE IS JUST A LITTLE KID #atlaluketa
Did... Iroh do something to be stuck at sea with this brat even though he is a General? #atlaluketa
OH MAAAAN THIS IS SO AWKWARD, TELL HIM KATARA #atlaluketa

I LOVE THE OLD MONK!!!!!
OH SHIT!!!!!!!! #ATLALUKETA
IROH!!!!!! !!! ! ! AAAAAAAAA

"THANKS FOR THE TEA" #ATLALUKETA
What a dope episode. Now to ep.4 where Sokka is already being sexist #atlaluketa

Also Aang is being a little brat who expects Katara to be his mom
I mean, he IS a little kid tbf

The animators are having a great tim- OH FUCK COOL WARRIOR GIRLS #ATLALUKETA
This is amazing
I'm unclear on whether these people are water tribe or something else entirely #atlaluketa

SOKKA FUCKING SUCKS BTW
