Yes witchcraft is /doing/ the thing. But the thing doesnt have to be a scripted 6 page ritual with a laundry list of items. It can be short and simple. Go outside and greet your plants. Your Land Spirits. Light a candle for your Ancestors with a quick prayer.
Witchcraft is simple. But keep in mind that what is "simple" for one, is "complex" for another.
My craft is inherently low-energy, short rituals with no tools. I light candles, i sit, i whisper to the Spirits. Occassionally i offer bread and water. Thats it.
I havent worked a "real" spell in 4+ years. 90% of my practice is talking at/with Things. I often dont get answers. Thats okay.
The most "intense" ritual ive done in ages was feeding my skulls. And that was completely improvised and took around or less than 20min. Let me write a rubric.
Light candles. Welcome Spirits. Wave incense over each skull. Rub a little wormwood balm on each skull. Offer water to each. Offer a pinch of bread to each. Additional pinch for all the other Spirits whose remains are in my home. Thanks. End.
Only three of my skulls have names so far. And one of which is my familiar. (Which sounds intense but is much more relaxed and casual).
What im trying to get at, i think, is that witchcraft is different for everyone. Some folks choose to keep it short and casual, some folks /have/ to due to illness/etc.
So like. Party on with ceremonial magick and 3 hour rituals. Us spoonies will be over here with a cup of tea and a candle.
This is a thread vaguely about accessibility of witchcraft in regards to people with low energy, mental/physical chronic illness, #spoonies.
