Here& #39;s the truth about #Writerlift tweets

People say that they& #39;ll get you tens of thousands of followers, but the reality is a lot murkier. First of all, you& #39;ve to understand that readers and writers are a niche among a million other niches in Twitter. However,

However, within Twitter niches, there are consumers and followers. Both groups see the content, but the followers are those who also follow. This means when you make a #Writerlift tweet, you& #39;re talking to a tiny minority. Finally, here& #39;s the reality check

Within the sub niche of people who follow, are people who follow because they like something you tweeted. And then there are those who join trains. I& #39;ve learned this the hard way. Quality followers are the first of these two: those who follow you for your content. So...

So the type of FOLLOWERS #Writeelift hashtag will get you are actually a group of people who probably won& #39;t engage with most of what you tweet. This is why you see ppl with 20k followers in the #WritingCommunity who barely get any engagement. And you know what?

This doesn& #39;t mean the ppl in lifts are A holes or in it for the numbers. It just means they don& #39;t know you and only followed you expecting a follow back. See, I said earlier I learned this the hard way because I used to make a ton of these Writerlift tweets.

I took her words dearly and changed my approach to Twitter. I began asking questions, making relatable content and sharing my work. And do you know what happened?

I actually blew up. Not playing. I went from a 0.5% engagement rate to well over 5%

In Twitter terms, that is lunacy.
And so I am not telling you to stop using writerlifts. I am not saying those who use them are negative. I am sure most are genuine people to their close circle of followers. I am just saying,

alongside Writerlift tweets, also make content. Be a human. Don& #39;t be a fcking number. Share with your audience who you& #39;re and what you& #39;re working on. If all you do are lifts,

If all you do are lifts, believe me, you& #39;ll end up in the hole I was stuck in half a year ago. And not everyone has a sister like mine: someone who can guide them when they don& #39;t know what to do

And that& #39;s how writers looking to build a platform should come across. Human.
