People who claim that America was doomed because of mass Hispanic immigration failed to consider two things:
1. "Hispanic" and "Latino" people don't exist. It's a made-up sociological identity with no real grounding.
2. Latin America is comically white supremacist.

Blacks have a real identity, forged by centuries of slavery, deracination, Jim Crow etc.
"Hispanic" and "Latino" are invented terms to describe a wide array of countries and cultures that have little in common with one another. They even classify Spaniards in there, lol.

Most "Latinos" don't identify as "Latino": they identify as Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican etc. Same reason why most white Americans don't identify as white, but as Irish, Italian, Polish, or just plain old American.

As for the white supremacy of Latin America, every Latin country has an explicit racial hierarchy, where everyone tries to ascend up the ladder to become white. It's not uncommon for brown women to have affairs with upper-class white men so that their kids will be white.
The same thing goes on in the Philippines (another former Spanish colony); whiteness is prized and the dream of every brown Filipina is to marry a white man and have white babies.

So yeah, the idea that Spanish-speaking immigrants wouldn't assimilate into white America in large enough numbers to swing elections was delusional.

I remember visiting L.A. four years ago, riding the Metro, and seeing Nazi propaganda being spray-painted by MS-13 gangbangers inside the trains.
