Let me explain how "The Resistance" has completely beclowned itself over the past 3.5 years, culminating in the probable nomination of Biden as their candidate for the highest office in the land. https://twitter.com/jsolomonReports/status/1265054826179833857
From the beginning of the Trump presidency, much of the Resistance messaging has been not one of policy disagreement, but revulsion for the man himself. And for anyone who would dare to even consider voting for him.

In other words:
Now, that genuinely could have been a successful argument with a consistent internal logic if "The Resistance" had someone like Amy Klobuchar or Mayor Pete to support for POTUS. But now they're forced to support ... Joe Biden.
Hate Trump with every iota of your being because of his questionable business ethics? I give you the business dealings o the extended Biden family.
Hate Trump because he's a racist? Okay, I give you a variety of Biden remarks. My favorite is the one about people with Indian accents at 7-11 and Dunkin Donuts.
Hate Trump because he's been accused of rape and other poor behavior of women? Cool. I give you Tara Reade.

And Lucy Flores. And Amy Lappos. And D.J. Hill. And Caitlyn Caruso. And Ally Coll. And Sofie Karasek. And Vail Kohnert-Yount.
And Ron Fournier:
So what does this tell us?

1. The Resistance made a mistake making their hated of Trump about their personal outrage at him being a Bad Orange Man. Their new argument will now be: "But our corrupt, racist rapist is less corrupt, racist or rapey than your corrupt, racist rapist.
While possibly defendable here as part of a Twitter debate, it's not the compelling message that moves undecided voters toward your candidate.

And it's certainly not the breathtaking comparison they had all been banking on since Election Night 2016.
2. Despite a great deal of gaslighting in the media and here on Twitter, nobody in fact minds being a "rape enabler." Especially when the "rape enabler" can easily pick apart a decades-old rape allegation with a simple Google search.
3. #MeToo is dead. Stick a fork in it. There are still a few random true believers, and they have my absolute respect and sympathy for having their movement hijacked for momentary partisan gain.
To be 100% clear:

If you #BelieveAllWomen or #BelieveAllSurvivors, regardless of who their allegations hurt politically, I will disagree with you for not supporting 240 years of "innocent until proven guilty," but I will completely respect your nonpartisan consistency.
In conclusion:

Anyone who says "I believed Blasey Ford and was against Kavanaugh, AND I believe Tara Reade, but I'm still voting for Biden" is actually doing the country a huge favor:
1. They are killing off an unAmerican standard that an accusation is equal to a conviction. An important civics lesson for those who were never taught civics.

2. They are permanently revealing themselves as terribly dishonest, hyper-partisan hypocrites.

So all is well.
The point is: the American voter has a pretty good nose for sniffing out BS and hypocrisy. And while Trump certainly isn't close to perfect, his loudest detractors are doing all they can to guide voters right into his waiting arms.
