Jason's trauma over his parent's deaths really comes up in two stories - the story where he finds out Two-Face killed his dad, which leads to him feeling really angry before talking to Bruce about it and learning to cope with it, and A Death in the Family (ugh)- https://twitter.com/Nightwingology/status/1265042554329788416
-where it's more about their *absence* than their actual deaths. Jason's grief begins manifesting in uncharacteristic outbursts of anger, which leads to Bruce benching him, which leads to him finding out about his birth mother, which leads to Ethiopia (uggghhh). Really, Jason's-
-parental issues are a core part of his character, but in a more complicated way. It's less 'my parents died and that motivates me' and more 'all my parental figures abandoned and failed me and that messed me up.' Willis was a criminal who was murdered in prison, Catherine died-
-from drug use leaving Jason all alone, Shelia got him killed after he sought her out looking for someone to fill the void left by Catherine, and of course there's Bruce, who's the one who really became his main driving motivator in his rage over being 'forgotten'.
