I have seen a widely shared video of an incident in the 007th District. We will continue to investigate the incident to ensure proper tactics were used—ensuring constitutional rights are protected—and that CPD officers are wearing face coverings to maintain public health.
It is my number one priority to ensure the safety and health of all of our residents—and we must do it in a way that centers our commitment to racial equity and social justice. I've seen some questions about how @Chicago_Police is enforcing social distancing across the city.
Let me directly address them.

Police enforcement is and should be the last resort. We want our officers focused on fighting crime—not on having to stop fully grown adults of all racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds from partying.
Dispersing crowds and enforcing social distancing is not what we want to use @Chicago_police time or resources on, but for the greater good, when absolutely necessary, we will—no matter which neighborhood large crowds are gathering in.
And let me emphasize: no matter which neighborhood.

Last night alone, police responded to dozens of reports of social distancing violations in every part of Chicago: everywhere from Lincoln Park to Humboldt Park to Andersonville to Auburn Gresham.
It is always my hope you will continue to follow @GovPritzker's stay at home order for your safety and the safety of your loved ones—and by and large the vast majority of you do.
I know folks are getting restless, and the weather is beautiful. But no matter your race, age, or zip code, when you throw a party or congregate, as some did this weekend, you put yourself, your loved ones, and our first responders and healthcare professionals in serious danger.
We can continue to flatten the curve and fully reopen our city ONLY when we work together.
