Huntsville (my hometown) contains the highest number of engineers per capita in the US, home of Marshall Space Flight Center (NASA) and some of the biggest national defense contractors.. Not to mention the US space program was born here

University of Alabama at Birmingham has one of the best medical schools in the nation.
7th for nursing, 15th for all masters degrees, School of Medicine ranked 31 and 34, for research and primary care, respectively.

Alabama has one of the highest biodiversity in the United States, being number one east of the Mississippi River.

A few notable Alabamians were big players in starting the Civil Rights movement. MLK Jr., Rosa Parks, and Fred Lee Shuttlesworth to name a few.

Trust me, from the outside it seems like a cesspool for sister kissing, racist, po’dunk towns. But Alabama has some super nice features that you just don’t know about until you see it yourself.
