“What’s the case for being Catholic & not just Christian”

- Jesus references a singiular Church when he says the Church is built on Peter (MT 16:18)
- At the Last Supper Jesus Institutes the Eucharist, instructs the Apostles to carry out this sacrifice
The Church issued the Canon of the Bible in 397 AD at the Council of Carthage, before then Scripture was passed down orally and the writings were not assembled into one entire Book.
Jesus gave Peter the authority to bind and loose the gates of Heaven from the Earth in Matthew 16:19

If this authority went away after Peter died (it didn’t), wouldn’t that of created a vacuum in Power if there were no successors (there was) to Peter as Bishop of Rome.
