Every CSU football preview talks about Steve Addazio's run-first offenses at BC and rightfully so. While running the ball will still be important, I think the hire of OC Joey Lynch shows that Addazio plans to run a very different offense at CSU
Here's an RPO w/motion from the WR from Ball State last year vs Toledo. Could be a nice play for Dante Wright next year
This is a nice quick crossing route that beats the blitz on 3rd down. Offensive line picks up the blitz really well
The next few plays are some trick plays. Seemed like CSU barely ran any the last few seasons.
This one's a double (triple?) reverse that goes the distance. Good to see none of the downfield blockers threw blindside blocks, very easy to do on a play like that
May have gotten a little overzealous with the trick plays here, pass gets picked off. Nice to see the creativity though
Towards the end of the first half, they attack vertically with 4 WRs and get a wide-open TD up the seam
This jet sweep is almost identical to the one Dante Wright scored on vs CU. Would like to see more plays like this designed for Wright
From last year vs Notre Dame, again attacking down the field out of the shotgun w/3 WRs
A nice red-zone TD to the TE. Faked the screen, then threw back shoulder for the TD
I think Lynch is creative enough as a playcaller to highlight all the talent that CSU has at the skill positions. They may still run the ball a lot, but I think it will be out of multiple different looks. They won't turn CSU into a ground and pound offense
