Why Mason Greenwood is better then Martinelli (A thread)
Mason Greenwood is more technically gifted than hum
I think this point is an obvious one. While Martinelli is bulkier and moves a bit more rigidly, Mason Greenwood is extremely fluid and can use both feet to full effect – an incredibly positive asset for a striker to have.
Greenwood far better on the ball, which means he simply possesses higher technical quality. This, of course, does not make him the better player by any means, but it does mean that he is more complete a player for the time being, with more potential in some key areas.
Greenwood has an extremely good touch, and when paired with his impressive awareness in tight spaces, having this helps him get shots off in alot more situations This is a trait that is crucial when playing against deep-blocks – something Manchester United have struggled witn
Its not that Martinelli isn’t technically gifted, because he is. Greenwood is simply on another level to the Brazilian in that aspect. Martinelli tends to influence general play less than Greenwood does, although they both have very good records but Greenwood just edges it
Greenwood has also shown to be a useful winger, using his technical quality to influence matches. While Martinelli has also had some good performances as a winger, his traits are far more limited, and therefore make him more suited to centre-forward
Martinelli hasthe natural instincts of a true centre-forward as he has scored so many goals this year with his immense movement and strength. He suits the term “fox in the box” far more than Greenwood does it’s almost like he knows where the ball is going before it comes in.
Martinelli definitely isn't the most complete player where as I think Greenwood is but you can see he has the mentality and intelligence and that cutting edge that can take you to the very top
Despite being under 6 feet tall, Martinelli has shown his aerial prowess throughout the season as well, scoring many powerful headers highlighting his strength and quality in the box a trait possessed by a world class st in Sergio aguero
Learning from lacazette and aubameyang every day will only make the Brazilian better but also limit his game time yes he is good off the left but he is definitely more of a striker then a lw and with the rise or saka and the best to come from pepe he might struggle for gametime
Mason Greenwood is breathing down the neck of dan James and will definitely be in contention to be a regularly starter next season but with the potential signing of sancho and martial's lack of goals there might be a chance that the Englishman can become the number 10 for United
In 24 matches this season, Gabriel Martinelli has an impressive 10 impressing mostly in cup competitions with Greenwood having 15 goals
both players have had immense debut seasons, which have displayed their massive potential But Greenwood seems to look like the better player playing in a very average United attack for most of the season
I believe Martinelli is definitely going to be world class but I do believe Greenwood along with foden will be the only generational talents in the prem. Greenwood is compared to RVP my many fans and I do believe he has the ability to be better then him with regular gametime
