Sonic as a character is one of the best and most well known characters for a reason. I suck at the classic games, but I love their aesthetics. Some of the classic music really does nothing for me, but we also get absolute jams like Green Hill Zone, Hydrocity Zone and Blue Spheres https://twitter.com/greencherple/status/1264701623642853379
The Adventure/Heroes series has aged like cheese in a lot of regards, but I still find myself going back to them for a lot of reasons. Mostly because they are a ton of fun in spite of their (numerous) shortcomings. The music in those games are the best in the franchise.
The overall look of the Adventure series is the most nostalgic to me. I love the blues of their skybox and water, and every level’s look and feel is embedded in my mind. Great looking, varied, interesting levels. Also I remember wanting to live in the City Escape city.
Shadow the Hedgehog is goofy, but I played it a LOT.
06 is poopy.
Unleashed on Wii is... strange.

Unleashed on 360 I think plays the best of the 3D games, and I love the whole experience (barring the first level in China, which is awful). I wish more people gave it a chance and enjoyed the (majority of the) werehog segments as much as I do.
Generations 360 is great but I have more issues with it than most people do (I mostly disagree with some of their level choices and some of the platforming frustrates me).
Generations 3DS is a lot more fun in my opinion. Plus it has a great remix of Big Arms, which means it wins.

I’m not even gonna TOUCH Boom. And I haven’t played Forces. I keep meaning to but the price was a bit steep for what I have heard is a really short game.
Mania is the best game in the series, I think. It fixes most of my issues with the original games (except Chemical Plant Zone can still screw off an shrivel up, I hate that level in every game it’s in), the Dimension Heist is awesome, and the music is AMAZING.
I’ve been watching the cartoons and reading the comics since I was in first grade. I have BIG nostalgia for them and love even the Archie comics.
Sonic 2 was the first game I have memories of, and I’m probably going to be a Sonic fan for life. I love that blue blur.
