1) so there's not really any doubt that the Cummings story doesn't add up, and has been constructed to match info in the public domain

The day trip story is ludicrous (The best take is he put a 4 year old at risk)

Feasibly neither he, his wife or child even had Covid-19

2) there's no real question that he broke the rules, or that if everyone with kids followed his example there'd be 1000s more dead now

There's no question that this government is prepared to put saving him over the public health

3) there's *absolutely* no doubt that more people will die because of this government's actions today, and that they think the public are fools

This is a looking glass moment. A number of people (Tory MPs & commentators) would prefer to say black is white & case is closed

4) the alternative is that the Tories lose power, and they cannot have that

The only question is will @Peston @BethRigby @GaryGibbonBlog @maitlis and others let them get away with it? Will our media fight this, or just move on?

5) today was just the latest shameful exercise in shutting down debate & avoiding scrutiny, presenting a made up story designed to be just enough to get us to "move on"

If they get away with this, they will get away with anything
