mostly lyrics since i'm not an expert in music production, but I might stray
Track 1. (Moonlight)
I'll start with the last line

Perhaps, how we change is what our undertaking is about

Ah I love how Jin, Yoongi, and Joon all have some song title to do with the moon but they're all entirely different interpretations. This seems to be an +
incredibly introspective piece, talking about where he came from, where he is now, but the moon that shines on him back then is still the same. It seems to be an unwavering promise to himself to never truly change as a person, and I see it as a recurring theme throughout D-2
A Peter Pan who still canโ€™t wake up from his dream

referencing when he said "if one does not lose his dream and devotes himself to achieve it, he is not an adult but a boy," once again bringing that feeling of dreading change as one grows up +
Sometimes I resent god, asking why he made me live a life like this,

what Iโ€™m doing, and if I love music at all

reminds me of black swan, when an artist challenges the notion of loving +
their craft, whether or not music is really his one true love or if it's something that's grown stagnant. In the line

The emptiness that I feel after flying fucking high

I feel like "emptiness" could be referring to both burnout and loneliness+
just like how he described the difficulty of making friends/relationships in break the silence, and once again repeated in interlude shadow "that my leap could be my fall"
Being called immortal is fucking overwhelming

I started just because I liked music,

but the adjectives they attach to my name feel too much sometimes

reminds me of The Last +
โ€œThe monster, my success earned at the cost of my youth, wants greater wealth. The greed that used to be my weapon now swallows me, ruins me, and puts a leash around my neck.โ€ because it's not only the public putting insurmountable pressure on him, it's echoed by himself
the repetition of "what can I do," obviously emphasises that feeling of helplessness, but in this context it also feels like floating (?), not necessarily negative, but more like a "it is how it is" kind of vibe that accepts the good and the bad, absorbs it, and keeps going
ah one of my favourite lines "If you think youโ€™re gonna crash, accelerate even harder, you idiot" and it seems like referencing his past work also serves several purposes, a) for the message of the line itself b) to show how his thinking reflects the yoongi of back then and +
c) to remind people of his growth, he's changed and that's an undeniable fact but he hasn't strayed far from himself.
Track 2.
It shines, shines, my crown shines

์žŠ์ง€๋งˆ ์žŠ์ง€๋งˆ [itjima itjima] ์ง€๋‚œ ๋‚ ์„ ์žŠ์ง€๋งˆ [itjima]
Donโ€™t forget, donโ€™t forget, donโ€™t forget the old days

in direct parallel to each other, "I've come this far, but don't forget"
I trap the past in a rice chest

now this line really interests me because i'm a sucker for extensive references and backstories in order to understand something, from Muish's ramblings it says that crown prince sado was, in this order, abused by his father +
went mad, committed atrocious acts, and was trapped in a rice chest by said father to starve to death. I get a sense of desperation with k*illing his past rather than merely burying it, like taking matters into his own hands and actively destroying what was with what is
and Iโ€™ll take mine and eat them all

seems to be referring to any shameful parts of his past, swallow it down and destroy whatever vestige of it that's left and this is what starts to confuse me because it seems to be in contrast to his previous ideas of
"my past is a part of me, it's still who I am, but not to the same extent," and I wonder if this is specifically the more sharpened tongue of the persona of agust d or if i've gravely misinterpreted his previous lyrics. either way the entire vibe of daechwita is much more cocky
and now we get into the part of the song that makes me really laugh because of how it's not directly aimed at anyone, but folks decided to push *certain artists* into the line of fire. Yoongi goes on to describe failures, insecurities, the faults of incompetent abilities etc.
Tic tok ์„ ๋น„์ƒˆ๋ผ๋“ค
Tic tok, you bastards with a stick up your ass,

doolset kindly tells us that ์„ ๋น„ (seonbi) these days is slang that describes someone whoโ€™s "always serious, ethically conservative, not fun, and inclined to make objections about other peopleโ€™s opinions."
and i'm not even gonna comment on **** and tiktok but I do believe that to be an exception to the "not targeted" trend, quite a pointed message.

with seonbi, yoongi said in an interview "itโ€™s often better for those who have such influence on others to be wary of loudly +
voicing their biased views." and those two lines seem to go hand in hand

personally i'd like to believe that yoongi said fuck conservatives and would spit on any republicans he comes across, but that's just me
I, who has only been looking up, now would like to just look down and put my feet on the ground like that

THIS line, I've been thinking about it nonstop, the way it's been 4 years since agustd was released and how bangtan+
have been on this ongoing rocketing path to overwhelming stardom, and from the documentaries and the little things we've seen, they've never had a pause aside from that short break where they were STILL hounded and reminded of the eyes watching them. when yoongi talks about +
getting what he's wanted, money, clothes, big cars and big rings, so whats next? How long is he to keep looking up until they can finally place feet on solid ground. Ambition spurs action and action brings achievements and achievements bring expectations and the cycle continues
the way Yoongi addresses where he is now in the grand scheme of his life so far really brings me this feeling of melancholy that contrasts entirely with the tone (?) of the song; it's aggressive, it's confrontational but it reminds me of a hard exterior protecting vulnerabilities
