Everything in me wanted to write a full-size essay entitled "A Theology of Soul Ties"... but it's my off day, so I'm just going to hit yall with a quick little thread and take this afternoon nap... #MikeTodd

For Starters: The terminology "soul tie" is not explicitly biblical but it is implicit. The same is true for "Trinity", though we embrace the doctrine, we arrive at this conclusion by exegeting the text.

Let's define "soul tie". It is the joining together of two souls. The soul consists of mind, will, emotions, heart, creativity etc.. a soul tie is amoral, not immoral. It is simply a concept to explain a union. This can be healthy or toxic, depending on the quality of the soul

The bible CLEARLY shows the dynamic of soul ties throughout the entirety of scripture. Common examples are David/Jonathan Solomon/many wives Ruth/Naomi and here's one often overlooked, the early church (Acts 4:32)

"Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common." (Acts 4:32)

God, Himself even directs a "soul tie" to form between a husband and a wife. "For this reason, shall a man leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. - Genesis 2:24

When a person HAS SEX inside of THE ONLY GOD ORDAINED place, which is MARRIAGE between a MAN and a WOMAN... a healthy SOUL-TIE forms. The process of becoming 1 happens on each level, body, soul, and spirit. This is healthy when done right!

SEX is a gift from God when in COVENANT with your spouse, it is not primarily for physical pleasure, to soothe insecurities, or to prove your love. When people have sex illegally... it can create an UNHEALTHY soul-tie and opens the door for demonic spirits to transfer!

What Mike Todd was talking about was VERY TRUE... having illicit sex outside of God's will creates confusion and emptiness. The Good news is that JESUS can save you, restore you and use you GREATLY... but if you continue in sin you will reap death.

There is literally 10,000,000 more things I wish I could say about "soul-ties" from not only a spiritual level, but psychological, physiological, sociological etc... for those of you bashing "purity"... stop projecting your brokenness all over twitter. There's hope for you to
