Okay so when 5sos said in that one interview that in Teeth mv they had to overcome their fears, here are my theories on that: a thread

(This is only MY OPINION, you can agree or disagree)
MICHAEL: it might obviously be just heights, but it might be fear of failure or smth in his past. As he is climbing the ladder he's evolving and pushing the thought out of his head but he is still scared bcs he keeps looking down. Eventually he came to terms with it and moved on.
Michael starts in a black room which represents fear and grief. The colour blue that peaks through as he starts climbing the ladder resembles calm, trust and as for Michael's fear most importantly, it represents responsibility.
CALUM: the rock might represent a feeling of being held back, and not being able to evolve into the greatest version of yourself. He broke the stone with his bass which might have meant that music was the thing that helped him escape his comfort zone and become his true self.
The colour that represents Calum's fear goes from orange to green. Orange is the colour of creativity and enthusiasm and green is the colour of stability, harmony and most importantly in Calum's case, growth.
LUKE:he is in a room full of smoke that is choking him. He might be afraid of losing his voice, not only for singing, but the ability to speak, to express himself. He might think that he's nothing w/o his voice but realizes how wrong he is and finds eventually peace (his way out)
Luke starts in the white room, which represents his purity, and innocence and it's interrupted by the colour red which has a really deep meaning, it can represent energy, passion and love, but in this case it's danger. In the end we have his purity peaking through as his savour.
ASHTON: It might be the light at the end of the tunnel. As a big believer he might be afraid of not reaching peace when his time comes. He tumbles around through life and fears that he'll never reach it, but then realises that he shouldn't worry about that now, he's still here.
In the beginning Ashton is tumbling trough a yellow tunnel, that represents hope and positivity; the woman in red stands in his way, she represents danger and his fear in general; but in the end he reaches the white, which represents safety, protection and purity.
