Some point I'm gonna write an observational thread about the difference between now and a month ago when I had 300 fewer followers. But the tldr is that I get a lot more notifications now than I used to, and it's harder to keep things straight.
A month ago, if I said something, it might get a couple likes from the people I know and otherwise go unnoticed. Now...

Well, the tweet above this one has 11 already, and it's been like two minutes.
Off-hand comments get retweeted.

Stuff I said yesterday finds traction today.

Something about this fundamentally isn't right.
I'm losing track of the conversation because there's all this...noise. 15 likes. 18. 30. 67. 214.

I'm pointing this out now because if you ever look at big accounts and wonder why they act differently...their entire experience using this app is different.
And this isn't a positive thing. Like...sure, I can drop a link to one of my games now and expect to get at least one sale out of it, and we can talk about how a person should feel about that, but the engagement level is just...

this isn't what life should be like, I don't think
Nobody's doing anything wrong.

But the top tweet of this thread is at 18 likes now. just a constant stream of "You said a good thing" coming from a thousand strangers.

That, uh

That can change a person.
