time to dissect the lyrics of “Acid Rain” bc I remember once I asked if y’all caught my “odes” to the legends of grunge

1. Very obvious. The title “Acid Rain” comes from Silverchair’s “Acid Rain” from their album Frogstomp. A classic I’m sure you’ve overlooked somehow.
2. “I feel the spiral take me down” is derived from “the downward spiral”. Not so much grunge as industrial I suppose but I feel NIN/Trent can seamlessly fit into any grunge playlist you have
“The ugly dog that’s kicked around” — AIC “Man In A Box”, Layne says “I’m the dog that gets beat” so I spun that into my own little web of words
Finally, “The Dope Man” feels like an obvious reference to “Spoonman” — but the entire line of “I hope that every goddamn day...” mixes Cornell’s SM with the lyrics of Junkhead by AIC from the Facelift LP
Actually...this is the FINALLY — the visceral depictions of emotion through sensory imagery was inspired by Cobain (especially heart shaped box)
