THREAD: So I got a #COVIDー19 test yesterday - because I found out on Friday that you can just go get them now.

If you& #39;re feeling sick, get tested!

I have a cough and a sore throat, I& #39;ve been isolating, but I wanted to get a real sense of what I was dealing with. #onpoli
I& #39;m not going to lie, I was a bit nervous about going, but the whole operation at @UnityHealthTO was great. New mask + hand sanitizer on entry, rigidly enforced socially distant lineups, friendly staff.

The whole thing was about 40 minutes in-and-out, and felt very safe.
Certainly safer than a grocery store.

The swab itself *is* a bit painful, and not exactly fun, but is really quick and the sensation is very brief. I have certainly felt worse things before.
The staff also were very helpful in talking through what appropriate symptom management should look like. I& #39;ll be able to see my results tonight or tomorrow online, and someone will give me a call.
My only complaint is that the messaging from the govts on testing is still all-over-the-place on this subject still. I couldn& #39;t figure out whether the right thing to do was call my Primary Care physician, tele-health, or to just go.
Notably, https://covid19toronto.ca/ ">https://covid19toronto.ca/">... still tells me that I shouldn& #39;t get tested based on my symptoms. The Premier is saying the opposite - it& #39;s hard to know where to go and what door to go into.
If you couple this lack of clarity with the fear that many people will have about getting tested - we can& #39;t really expect to hit our testing target until it& #39;s way more simple than it is.

This was just my testing experience. Hopefully it helps convince some of you to go as well if you feel you should.
FUN UPDATE: my test results are in.... but they can’t show me?

Calling my primary care doctor, who I haven’t talked to in years, to see if he has them.

But wtf?
FINAL UPDATE: Talked to my Primary Care Physician. My results are not in.

This seems like the kind of thing the website should have the ability to tell you...

END THREAD - Tagging you all to flag these issues for you - I tried to follow government resources on testing and found incorrect information, conflicting advice at many turns.

Maybe just me but you should know!
