E-mailing an author to point out a typo in their book--and adding, “I hope you’ll correct this in future editions”—isn't nearly as cool or as helpful as you think it is.
And yeah, I forward your comments on to my editor in the hopes that, yes, it can be corrected in future editions, thanks.
I’ve come to think there’s confusion over trad vs. self/Amazon publishing. When you control the master doc, it’s easier to get errors fixed in real time. In traditional publishing, the final MS is with my publisher, and we may or may not be going back to press.
