Hey, I just thought of something. Who did Blue beat to become the Pokemon Champion in Gen 1?
Don& #39;t you have to beat the champion to become the champion? Because I don& #39;t think Lance could have been the champion considering he& #39;s part of the Elite Four.

To people saying it& #39;s Lance and he got bumped to Elite Four by losing: Considering in every single Pokemon game you become the new Champion and no one gets bumped down, that doesn& #39;t make sense
I think that might be a plot hole. Some say he was the first champion, but how could there be no champion before BLue? If Lance is a completely unbeaten Trainer and thus the champion hasn& #39;t been crowned, isn& #39;t Lance the champion?
But we know Lance can& #39;t be the champion because "bumping down" has never been a system in any of the games. So Lance isn& #39;t the champion because Lance hasn& #39;t beaten Lance?
If the requirement to be the Champion originally wasn& #39;t beating the previous champ and it was just "Beat Lance& #39;, then I feel really fucking bad for Lance
Dude& #39;s already been crowned the hardest trainer to beat, and yet he doesn& #39;t count as champion, the first one to beat him does

I subscribe to the age old wrestling adage of "To be the man, you have to beat the man". Lance got screwed! If he& #39;s been appointed "Hardest test for a champion" and no one has ever beat him, he should be the champion! #JusticeForLance
Here we go, this is probably the canon answer: https://twitter.com/MahDryBread/status/1265011624118833154">https://twitter.com/MahDryBre...
