#MemorialDay hits differently this year. What if a foreign government was responsible for the deaths of 100,000 of our friends, neighbors, coworkers, and family members?

For many, the military offers a way out of the poverty & instability we face b/c of intentional disinvestment in our communities.
Billions of taxpayer $ go to the military to keep us “safe.” How much safer could we be if we just invested in education, jobs, & healthcare for all?

I believe the best way to honor those we lost is to:
1. Be honest about the cost of war;
2. Champion #PeopleFirst policies so less of our loved ones will have to make this sacrifice;
3. Provide comprehensive care, protections, & security for our troops when they come home.
